UPDATE: Extra Life Registration open worldwideMay 27th, 2010 at 12:38 pm · 3 Comments |

Extra Life, the 24-hour video game marathon benefitting Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, is officially open for registration for all regions. International users, who have funky and frankly inefficient addresses, will be able to register on Friday. We’re still monkeying with that code.
Head over to the REGISTRATION Area and get started. We’ve got a lot more functionality coming down the pike in the next few weeks. We didn’t dare wait for that though. There are some street teams chomping at the bit to get started, and I feared for my personal safety were I to hold out on them any longer.
Visit http://extralife.sarcasticgamer.com to learn more about Extra Life.
About Extra Life: Extra Life takes place on October 16th, 2010 and is the 3rd annual occurence of the event, which aims to raise money and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. To date the event has raised more than $300,000 dollars to help kids live long happy lives by providing hospitals with much needed funding for equipment and programs. 100% of the money raised stays where it is raised. Extra Life benefits Children’s Miracle Network hospitalsMay 25th, 2010 at 9:27 am · No Comments |

As you may have heard, Extra Life has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network this year to help keep the money they help to raise, right there in their own community.
Children’s Miracle Network was founded with two simple goals
1. Help as many children as possible by raising funds for children’s hospitals.
2. Keep funds in the community in which they were raised to help local children.
The organization was founded by Marie Osmond and her family, John Schneider, Mick Shannon and Joe Lake.
Children’s Miracle Network’s most recognizable symbol and greatest fundraising tool is its red and yellow Miracle Balloon icon.
As of 2008, Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $3.4 billion—most of which is donated a dollar or two at a time.

Sponsor Strokes: Sumo “Sway”May 24th, 2010 at 1:19 pm · 3 Comments |

Disclosure: Sumolounge has long been a proud sponsor of SarcasticGamer.com. We’ve chosen to do business with Sumolounge.com because of the quality of its products and fantastic value for our readers. I received a Sumo Sway, courtesy of Sumolounge, but am under no obligation to like it, or write about it. ‘Nuff said.
Sitting on your ass isn’t always a good time. As many of you know, playing video games for an extended period of time can be downright PAINFUL if your rump is planted in a gimmicky gaming chair or other contraption. A couple years ago I got my hands … er… ass on a Sumo Omni, a product that has served my family well, and survived all my kids could dish out. So I was very excited when our friends at Sumo wrote to say something new was on the way. Something bigger. Something stylish with…BACK SUPPORT.
Far from a bean bag, the Sumo Sway is basically furniture, without any hard parts to it. The high-back design lets you sink in without sinking BACKWARD. The thing comes in a vacuum-sealed box and doubles in size the moment you open the seal. It’s substantial. It’s huge. It’s heavy and wants to stay put. But more importantly, its frackin’ comfortable!
I’ve logged more gaming time in the past two weeks than I have in the last two months; not once have I climbed out of this beast feeling sore or tight. The foam inside is the perfect firmness for me (I’m a big dude) and Lesley actually approves of its aesthetics. The thing comes in microsuede, or as I opted for, corduroy.
The price isn’t cheap, starting at $249, but compared to others out there, Sumo is a huge value. Plus the company ships all stuff free from factories around the world.
I can’t imagine anyone would be disappointed with this thing, unless you live in a very small apartment, or Dave’s parent’s spare room.
It makes me REALLY happy to have Sarcastic Gamer, and Extra Life associated with a company like Sumolounge.com. Their stuff is SOLID and the company takes awesome care of our listeners and readers. I know a pricey chair like the Sway might not be up everyone’s alley, budget-wise, but if you do decide to treat yourself to the ultimate gaming/movie/sports-watching seating, we would appreciate it if you considered working with our sponsors and friends of Extra Life, Sumolounge.com
Don’t just take my word for it. Read exactly 1000 reviews of Sumo’s line right here!
